The ads should have made it clear the couplers are truck-mounted; however, I prefer truck-mounted over body-mounted couplers for most of my rolling stock and locomotives. The truck-mounted couplers get their cars around an NTRAK layout effortlessly, I've found. My only complaint with the Bachmann Silver Series trucks is the size of the couplers used. They're McHenry's, I think, and they're awfully big. Otherwise, I think Bachmann is doing a good job at upgrading the N Scale rolling stock and locomotives it is offering model railroaders. I run many Bachmann steam engines, and have not had a problem with any of them. I do have one old Bachmann 4-8-4 Santa Fe steamer that I warm up for about an hour at home before taking it to one of our Montana NTRAK layouts.

Nice car, but couplers are truck-mounted

All these Bachmann 50' boxcars are incorrectly described as having body-mounted couplers. They are truck mounted, which lead to great disappointment on my end of the transaction.
