GM&O was created just prior to WWII with the merger of Mobile and Ohio and Gulf Mobile and Northern. It connected St. Louis to the Gulf of Mexico. In 1947, GM&O bought the bankrupt Chicago and Alton giving them routes to Chicago and Kansas City. This group of 700 cars was built in December of 1952. GM&O freight car painting standards changed often with many cars appearing in brown, bright red, and dark green over their service lives.

These cars features factory-installed, etched brass roof walks, brake wheel and stirrups. Scale-thickness doors can be positioned opened or closed. Equipped with Micro-trains Couplers and Trucks
