Nice Decoder December 22, 2016
Reviewer: Leo from San Diego, CA.
I already have a couple of these DecoderI. Dropping them in is simple. Remember to isolate your motor to prevent shorts. I have one locomotive that runs faster than the other. Setting the speed CV's allowed me to match them up nicely.

I deducted one star as Digitrax has changed the LED to a smaller white light that I assume uses less power.  The new light does not focus the light as much as the old LED did reducing its realism.  It lights up the cab and road number nicely but doesn't project as much light.

New decoder design December 22, 2016
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from St. Charles, Mo.
Hi! I also noticed Digitrax has changed the design of this decoder. Instead of using the "old style" full sized LEDs, they switched to the smaller surface mount LEDs. Because the surface mount LEDs are smaller they are farther back in the shell away from the headlight(s), and the results are poor. Theadlights are dimmer, and, the light escapes through the cracks around where the cab snaps onto the body and through plastic cab itself. Painting the inside of the cab and long hood helps, but there is no way to put a bezel on the surface mount LEDs to direct the light straight through the headkight(s). They ruined a good product!

Digitrax all the way! February 25, 2013
Reviewer: Sheetz from SD CA.
I love the Digitrax line.  As always a good decoder.  Easy to configure, and install.  I give them 4 stars because they quit using the LED bulbs, and went with micro LED's.  The bulbs focus the light into the light tubes making the headlights on the trains brighter
