I got this decoder to install in my Kato B unit and it was easy as pie.

Very straight forward install

THis was my first DCC install in a F unit in fact it was a Kato B unit. One thing that seems to be left out in the instructions is that the light needs to be removed. I simply cut the light off with a pair of scissors. That actually worked lol, I dont know why they dont tell you to do that very strange.

I have 3 of these in an N scale 4 loco F3A-B-B-A consist pulling a California Zephyr, with an MRC 1957 sound decoder for the lead F3A. Installation was easy on these! As usual, mts service and prices are great!

Once I got this installed it works pretty well....but the gold tabs on the Engine are just a bit short and sometimes they do not make great contact with the new decoder board....I have had to apply a piece of tape over the contacts to make sure they stay in place. Overall however this is a very good product and the headlight is really bright...looks cool!
