Digitrax N Scale DCC Plug-N-Play Mobile Decoder December 22, 2016
Reviewer: Jamie
I give this a three because the decoder is only good depending on the model you put it into. I put mine in an SD40-2 and a C44-CW, both Kato models. It went into the C44 fine except it sometimes wouldnt work when I put the shell back on. It went in the SD40 okay as well but would not go into one of the grooves so I put tape on that one. The negative side is that when i tried to put it in a SD-70ACe it did not work. It did not go into any grooves at all, so I put it in my C44. Basically, I would just say to spend a few more bucks and get the TCS decoder for Kato models since they are what Kato itself put in theirs.

Awesome way to get into DCC December 22, 2016
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
This is the first DCC decoder I purchased and the install went off without a hitch. So far Ive converted 4 Kato locos and one Atlas loco with Digitrax decoders. Im not sure what happened with the GG1 decoder, I think it was DOA but Im sending it in for their "No hassle, no worries warranty and see how that goes.

great decoder for my kato SD40-2's & C30-7's i have bought 10+ so far + more to order, extra solder tabs on decoder board to add more functions like ditch lights , mars & rotating beacons . Great functioning decoder & well priced for a drop in decoder which only takes a few minutes to install .only Digitrax for my layout.

Everything installed pretty easily., except for milling to fit capacitor. You need Digitrax PR3, to install the EMD 710 Turbo, or equivalent. you also need to change CV29 to a value of 39, or which ever you prefer.
