After three and a half week I finally received (in Australia the UT4. It comes with a two pages instruction manual, concise but clear. I plugged it in with a bit of trepidation but it worked like a charm. Very responsive and easy to use with one hand. I impressed so much so that I'm going to purchase another one soon. Highly recommended.

Nice handheld throttle

The UT4 does everything I expected. It allows either 2 or 4 bit addresses, has pushbuttons for DCC functions and is an easily hand-holdable size. The throttle knob allows for precise speed control.
The only drawbacks are that the back has to be removed with a screwdriver to insert a battery for infra-red operation and the cord is hardwired to the throttle so even in infra-red mode, unplugged from a LocoNet connector you still have the long cord to deal with, either by winding it up or just dragging it around.
5 stars if the cord could be unplugged from the throttle and if the battery compartment could be reached without opening the whole unit.
