Description
Technical Specs

The SD70ACe is the latest in the line of EMD's "70" locomotives, an evolution of the SD70MAC, although its radiator design harkens more to that of the SD80/90 body. The SD70ACe has been designed to fit the latest EPA standards and regulations, and sports 4300 horsepower. These are very popular locomotives both for Union Pacific and the rail fans and may be seen all over the United States. Each of these heritage units has its own special very colorful paint scheme. The number on the locomotive denotes the year of the merger of that road into the UP.

Well Made Locomotive! March 24, 2014
Reviewer: Matt from Massachusetts
A beautiful, well made locomotive. Pristine paintwork, nice detail, and smooth, quiet, and powerful performance. For being priced below $100, this model is a bargain! It runs smooth at the slowest of speeds, yet also has the ability to open up on the track without much noise at all. Despite its large size and six axles, this locomotive is "sure-footed" and will easily creep over the most complex of switches and tight curves. (though it looks best operating on 17 inch or greater radius curves. The ditch lights are a nice added feature.

A must have for UP fans November 13, 2012
Reviewer: Dave from MD
Fantastic engine.  Nice detail. Very smooth running. I dropped a TCS K1D4 NC decoder in this engine in 10 minutes. Couldn't be happier with the engine or MB Klein's service.

EMD Sd70 Denver & Rio Grande June 29, 2011
Reviewer: Mark H. from Baltimore
I have a special place reserved for this powerful locomotive, on my track at all times. It has fine detail and superb proformace typical of KATO engines. I have pulled as many as 17 53 ft modern tank cars on level track with no problem at all. Its unusual paint scheme makes it stand out among other modern locos. Buy it.

I bought this SD70ACe just two weeks ago. Runs very smooth, and the paint job is so amazing and crisp. so far i cant see anything wrong with this engine the more i ran it the better it got.
