I am writing this review because easy, "no problem" sales give a customer no information on the quality of the store or organization. When a problem occurs is what brings out the true nature of a retailer.
I purchased a UP Flyer set for my 5 year old for Xmas 2012, taking care to order a month ahead of time to make sure it arrived in time for holidays. On Christmas morning he jumped for joy. Then came the problem, the tender had a defective coupler...couldn't hook up the train. Everything else was fine.
Took the tender to local Lionel dealer, who said a replacement part would not be available for 6 months.
Called modeltrainstuff.com (MB Klein) and a modern day miracle occurred. Though it was past the 30 day return time frame (due to item being wrapped in Christmas paper for 2 weeks), he agreed to exchange the faulty tender so my son could use the train.
I almost fell out of my chair! I cannot express how that made me feel as a customer. Thank you so much!
