Anybody who has laid a fair amount of track can appreciate the value of tools that make the job fater - and more accurate. The soldering tool is an absolute necessity for laying out a line intended for DCC. Even conventional DC layouts can benefit by having multiple jumpers soldered in each block. The ballasting tool will pay for itself by the ballast you save on a medium or larger sized layout. The parrallel tool is a time-saver and the track gauge should be used on any sized layout. This entire set should be in every narrow gauge modeler's toolkit.

First, this is exactly what I ordered. Second, it was delivered VERY quickly. Third, the alignment tools were much shorter than I thought they were, having never seen a live one, and basing my perceptions on the photographs supplied. Overall, I'm very pleased with Model Train Stuff. The prices are among the best anywhere, product availability is second to no one, and shipping is reasonably priced and very quick. I'll definitely spend more money here.
