I had to send the first one back to MRC as I think I blew it up (cost $8). I absolutely love the horn on this. I know MRC does not have the best decoder reputation but I am really happy with it. The speaker is great and the volume is really good. Mine runs with a TCS decoder in my EMD F40PH Go Transit.

Great Modules for EMD Units

I chose these as a sound addition for two Bachmann DDA40X units. Installed two at a time, paired up with the 16x35mm speakers. The 645E prime mover sound is an excellent matchup. You can see how they work by watching my YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhE_ERbEKUM.

Use them on n scale

Recommended as a stand alone sound decoder on n scale layouts. I have three of these now positioned in corners of a HCD layout, and they add realism to the layout. The 1909 has six diesel rumbles, and you can control the sound levels from the controller.
If you are not satisfied with the sound level of the n scale mobile decoders, go with this option.
