MRC 1414 December 30, 2017
Reviewer: Robert Miller from Mt Shasta, CA United States
My research before buying paid off big time. This control system has everything I'm looking for in a DCC format. Easy to understand functions and easy programming. The only down side is the unit will not run DC locomotives. I do not have a lot of them so no big deal here as most are used in "branch line" operations on my layout. I couldn't be happier.

Best of all and of importance to me it can be expanded as necessary.

Of course it goes without saying that once again MTS has the best price as usual. Combined with USPS Priority shipping it is an unbeatable combination.

Thanks MTS!

Only The Best! May 21, 2016

All I can say is WOW! I got this to replace my digitrax zephyr, and the user interface is just night and day!

No more having to program CV's to get a 4 digit address to work, no BS, just straight to the point ease of use! LOVE IT!

It was a fight between this or the NCE Power Cab/SB5 combo, and not only did that NCE stuff cost more, but you dont get a program track, so at just 250 bucks, and only 1.5 amps less than the NCE (with the booster, without the booster the NCE only puts out 1.5 amps...) it was a landslide win for MRC! And boy am I glad I chose them!

The Prodigy Adv 2 delivers even easier programming than NCE in that you DONT HAVE TO REMOVE LOCOS FROM THE TRACK! You can program on the main and not have to stop your layout, just call up the loco you want to program and do your thing!

If your in the market for a DCC system, LOOK NO FURTHER!

A Repairer of Model Trains takes the DCC Plunge! April 8, 2014
Reviewer: Anthony DiBello from Hazlet, NJ United States
I first wish to thank the MB Klein store for shipping my order off so quickly to my home.
The MRC Prodigy Advance2 Squared DCC system was easy enough to set up for a DCC first timer. It took me longer to rewire my 5' x 11' with a lower return loop HO train layout, with 18 gauge wire than anything else. The layout is located in a spare upstairs bedroom.
I did unfortunately experience a technical glitch with the power pack which prevented HO diesels w/ sound decoders from working properly. Especially Locos which already were set up w/ Loco address and CVs.  Of course this won't be the case for everyone else who plan to or have already bought the MRC 1414 Prodigy product.
I have been an MRC Loyalist for many years and recently retired my 36 year old Control Master X Transformer w/ `built in' momentum & reverse loop capabilities.  The Model Rectifier Corp. location is just 16 miles away from my NJ home. And I can stop by their onsite repair shop & get whatever .. fixed.

Read the manual. January 6, 2014

I got my unit in Brazil today. The manual is very, very nice and complete. In a matter of two hours I was able to set up my HO Bachmann Mogul on main track and knew the manual by heart. The system itself is highly interactive with the user. Think about it, look at the options available, and it's there. I highly recommend this unit for all starters in DCC. Do read the manual. After that you'll be a pro in no time. Congratulations to MRC. You have a really nice product for DCC. As for Model Train Stuff, prices are good, and delivery to Brazil was pretty fast even at Christmas time. I'll be shopping with your company again soon.
