I bought one to see own well they were. When I received it, the end of it was bent upwards and had to be gently bent back down so the whole thing would lay flat. The ties near this area could easily slide back and forth, causing the over center spring to not work properly. Very soon later, the spring flew out. I used a ground throw to switch the points.
Finally, the hinged points do not stay in the rail joiner.
Trains do, so far, run through it without derailing.
EDIT: 12-20-13 I bought another one of these turnouts. This time it was a RH. I did so, just to see it the first on i ordered was just a fluke. This turn out I received appears much better quality. No issues with it at all and i am happy.
