  • On the cover: It's another busy day at the Cash Mining Company as W&LE 8003 shifts ore cars on the mine's sidings, while passengers disembark at the tiny St. Exupery station perched on a corner of the timber platform. The timber structure was made necessary by the pre-existing rail line below the mine and station. Meanwhile, VGN locomotives 741 and 508 strain to pull a long string of loaded coal hoppers upgrade to points East. The timber structure is composed of 22 bents, each one unique. With lateral and longitudinal bracing, over 1100 pieces of scale lumber were needed for the structure.
