These 40’ box cars with Youngstown doors, short ladders and no roofwalks, were built in 1957 and serviced in
1982. They run on Bettendorf trucks. In June 1968, Canadian Pacific introduced a new corporate image for their
entire company. Freight cars were painted in solid colors by type: ‘Action Yellow’ for insulated cars and cabooses;
‘Action Green’ for newsprint; ‘Action Red’ for general merchandise boxcars, gondolas and flat cars; and ‘Action
Silver’ for refrigerator cars. The uniquely designed “Multimark” consisted of a circle segment and a triangle. In
1988, CP Rail stopped applying the Multimark when repainting freight cars.

large white “Route of the Silver Meteor” paint scheme, a 56” SAL
“Through The Heart Of The South” Herald, and runs on black Bettendorf
trucks. Built in 1938 by Pullman-Standard, these cars had a double door
opening of 12’ 6”, an inside height of 10’1” and a capacity of 50 tons.

This 50’ standard box car with plug door is painted reefer yellow with large “BN”
logo, large “Western Fruit Express” and “Burlington Northern” lettering and runs
on black roller bearing trucks. This car was last serviced in 1976 by the WFE at HIL where it endured full
testing and inspecting. The RBL classifi cation indicates an insulated refrigerator car constructed to A.A.R.
standards and additionally equipped with adjustable loading or stowing device.

This 50’ standard box car with single Youngstown door is painted black with
yellow Atlantic Coast Line logo and Another Cushioned Load lettering. It is lettered
in yellow and runs on black roller bearing trucks. Built for ACL by Pullman-Standard in 1962, this car
was part of series 35100-35413. By 1966, other O-35 series cars had been added and the series then
numbered 35100-35899. As indicated by the “DF Loader” symbol, these cars were equipped with DF-2
loaders next to the doorways. Many cars within the series were assigned to specialized load service and
equipped with pallets, side fi llers and/or tote bins to accommodate those assigned loads.
