Product Details
Brighten your house for the holidays with the gleaming sheet metal beauty of the tinplate era. This holiday freight set harks back to the era between the two World Wars, when toy trains indeed looked like toys. The original 260E locomotive, produced by Lionelr through 1935, represented the last hurrah of tinplate. Within a few years, most toy trains would be far more realistic - if less charming - plastic and die-cast models of real-life trains.
Decorated with bright metal trim and colorful baked enamel paint, this freight set runs on the same O gauge RealTrax as every RailKing model in this catalog. And while its exterior is pure 1930s, thanks to Proto-Sound 2.0 electronics our 260E steamer delivers smoother operation than any original tinplate locomotive, as well as huge plumes of puffing smoke - timed to the driver's revolutions - and a clanging bell and wailing whistle guaranteed to delight children of all ages.
