Bachmann 2 8 0 |

I've owned this loco for about a year and it took some tweaking to run nicely. I found online that if yours runs poorly, as the other reviewer said, it can be fixed by loosening the three screws holding the bottom plate on, particularly the one under the motor. It seems to be a common problem that they are screwed too tight from the factory and can cause poor running. Mine would run much smoother after loosening a bit, so it will require a bit of fiddling to get it right. Otherwise, it runs and looks great.

DCC Conversion not the easiest |

The locomotive runs reasonably smooth, and can pull 15 - 20 cars depending on the locomotive. The DCC conversion is not the easiest thing in the world. It requires soldering in odd places that might damage the electronics in the locomotive itself. The conversion is for the more experienced modeler, and should not be done by a beginner.
