Our famous five-pole motor with dual brass flywheels and equipped with frictionless trucks with blackened metal wheels will power these locomotives. N Scale PA and PB September 12, 2008 Reviewer: David Jarman from Epping, New South Wales Australia   Once again Kato has done and exceptional job on this locomotives. The mechanism is smooth and responsive.  Digitrax make a drop in decoder for this unit and it is easy no fuss to convert (Keep and eye out for my DVD on DCC N Scale conversions).  Each unit is powered and has excellent pulling power. With an A+B+B consist you will have more than enough power to handle any length train. There is one problem with this locomotive.  Due to the long wheel base on each of the drive bogies it is a little prone to derail and end up in the dirt. So if you have perfect permanent way this will not be a problem. But hey look on the bright side - you will soon find out where the gangers need to be sent to fix the track? But with the derailing aside these look great in front of stainless set of corrugated Santa Fe Passengers. Was this review helpful to you?
