Description   This 50’ standard box car with Youngstown door is painted dark green with a horizontal white stripe across the sides and doors. The car displays the Monad logo, “Scenic Route of the Vista Dome” lettering, the arched “Northern Pacific lettering and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. Originally, these 50’ single door cars built by NP in October 1950 were part of series 31000-31499. Some from this group were converted into “DF” service by the Northern Pacific at Brainerd in 1954-1956 and painted into NP’s dark green with the “DF” medallion on the door advertising the accommodations for their shippers. They were re-numbered into the 1100-1295 series.
