Description   This 36’ riveted steel side caboose is painted aluminum, sports the red, white and black BURLINGTON ROUTE herald, and is lettered in black. It was built between February and March 1930 and serviced in May 1959. It run on black Bettendorf swing-motion caboose trucks. This Class NE-10 car was numbered into the 13500-13524 series and originally painted into the standard mineral red scheme with white Railroad Roman lettering. In the early 1950s, all of the NE-10s were painted the MOW Orange scheme. In 1959, NE-10 #13501 traded it’s MOW Orange paint for the ZEPHYR-inspired silver scheme. All of the NE-10s were on the roster at the time of the merger in March 1970.
