Built to modernize "America's Railroad," the Amtrak Cities Sprinters have state-of-the-art features such as regenerative braking that can feed energy back into the power grid. The latest generation of electrics for the Northeast Corridor, the ACS-64 can reach speeds upwards of 125 mph. Two new paint scheme additions are joining this popular line in late 2022, including series leader #600 which bears the name "David L. Gunn" in tribute to Amtrak's former president, and locomotive #662, which was wrapped in a special "Phase III" heritage scheme to promote the video game Train Sim World 2 while also celebrating Amtrak's 50th anniversary.
