This Broadway Limited HO Scale PRR Class B6sb 0-6-0 Switcher is an iconicPennsy switcher used in a variety of locations around the system. Commonlyknown as "shifters" on the PRR, the B6 class was the railroad's mostsuccessful steam switcher locomotive. 238 Class B6sb locomotives wereconstructed between 1916 and 1920. These locomotives were retrofitted withpower reversers to make the frequent switching moves quicker and easier forcrews that operated them. With over 36,000 lbs of tractive effort the 0-6-0s did their jobeffectively. Through World War I and II, they could be seen pretty mucheverywhere on the PRR. They were eventually pulled during the late 1940sand early 1950s in favor of diesel switchers.
