    Great product

Purchased to install in an Atlas/Kato RS-1 Diesel Locomotive. Installation is pretty simple. Just disconnect power and motor leads from OEM board. Solder these leads to appropriate connections, as described on Digitrax insert. Program and run. Worked right out of box with no fuss. I also used SMD pre wired lights and connected them to decoder for directional headlights. Recommended. Packed securely for shipping by ModelTrainStuff. Price at time of purchase beat competitor pricing.

    Atlas Silver GP40-2

The install was a struggle, It did not fit because the locomotive has a lot of weights built in. I had to take my dremel and cut out and remove weights so it would fit. Then per suggestion from Digitrax I had to flip it upside down because the SFX-sound bug hit the flywheel. A great decoder but check your locomotive for fit first. I didn't, but made it work.

    Works as advertised

I picked up one of these for an old HO Atlas/Kato RS3 I picked up at a show. Mostly a drop in conversion with a couple wires to solder. Not too difficult for an average skill level. Works well, very nice slow speed and very quiet in this unit. No sound for this price.

Digitrax DH165A0 HO Plug-N-Play Mobile Decoder

The decoder works fine, but the instructions included depicted a different board. The other odd thing was that the locomotive operated in the opposite direction from what it should have. I checked the rail to board connection logic and it was correct. I reversed the motor connections and the problem was corrected.
I was happy that a decoder that fits my ATLAS RS3 was available, and after a couple hiccups works fine.
