Next in its "Starter Series" line up, Kato's Amfleet Intercity Express sets are available in a number of different set options, allowing a modeler to put together a bookcase collection or simply to pick and choose their preferred cars and run both lengthy and short trains. Modeling the shorter distance (and northeast corridor) Intercity passenger cars - the Amfleet II and Viewliner sleeper, respectively - these cars and accompanying locomotives are decorated in Amtrak's most current paint scheme, the Phase VI (also known as "IVb"), which marries modern aesthetic simplicity with the traditional Amtrak red, white, and blue stripes.
