What on earth would we do without MicrTrains and their fabulous couplers!

I was surprised at how large this Micro-Trains coupler is. I had to enlarge the pilot hole to get the coupler through it with the trip pin factory installed. In retrospect I probably should have removed the trip pin, but so many times they have been very hard to reinstall after removing. I accepted the gaping open hole below the coupler as the easy way out.

Just used the coupler. Left the Kato spring and its pin in place after removing the Kato one. The Kato spring is powerful enough to hold the MT pieces together, plus minimal clearance between the back of the coupler and the spring pin means the coupler is held in place and no slinky effect. Crash transitions between forward and reverse and it still holds together.

Perfect fit and no trouble to install.
