Micro-Trains N 10844440 Weathered 100-Ton 3-Bay Open Hopper with Rib Sides, CSX (ex-Chessie)

This ex-Chessie System 3-bay hopper with Barber Roller Bearing trucks eventually was merged into CSX Transportation's fleet of hopper cars and received paint-out patches. Chessie System was formed through the 1972 mergers of Chesapeake & Ohio, Baltimore & Ohio, and Western Maryland. It remained one of the largest East coast railroads until 1986 when Seaboard System merged with Chessie to form today's rail giant, CSX Transportation.
