Description
NAHX "Ralston-Jefferson" Delivery 1974 introduces a new "pink car" offering for our series of these beauties. Ralston-Jefferson was part of a multiple-town cooperative located on the CNW mainline in Iowa that was a gigantic operation and operated a large self-owned fleet of PS4750 grain hoppers. This car was part of a large 80 car order that was leased from North American Car Company in 1974 and are replete with the North American logo. These cars do not have shaker brackets, by design, a feature that only Tangent offers. These cars also have the "Call Collect" phone number stenciled on the side of the car, a number you can still call today for your grain acquisition needs.
Features for these PS4750 replicas include:
Dimensional accuracy - scaled from Pullman-Standard plans and verified with field measurements
Highly correct "true to life" colors
"Hyper-Accurate" lettering including exact fonts and lettering placement
Genuine Kadee scale couplers
"Near-scale" draft gear box with beautifully-rendered side "key" detail
"See through" etched metal running boards and crossover platforms (in one of 3 possible variations)
Road-specific details for each scheme, including 7 different brake systems, 3 different outlet gates, 3 different sets of roof hatches, 4 jacking pad sets, with or without shaker brackets, 2 roof overhangs, 3 different running board and crossover platform options, end ladders options, 7 brakewheel housing and clevis options, and 2 brakewheel options
Beautiful details - wire grab irons and coupler lift bars - no "molded in" plastic grab irons here!
